KIWI DELIGHT
created using coloured pencils
Back to the ACEO's
I havent listed any aceo's for ages on ebay but i have submitted this one along with another two the the ACEO magazine for entry into the food aceo's contest
I would love to win as it would afford a free subscription to their wonderful magazine

I am still trying so hard to master those colored pencil techniques.
This one was done using transparent layering gradiation techniques and burnishing.
I also used the complementary colours for the shadow and shaded areas.
I quite like the look of the petals as they do appear to curve and in the real the whole thing turned out very vibrant and seemed to POP off the paper
Got to draw some more of these it was so much fun

Hi everyone it's been such a long time since i posted here on my blog, I thought i better get some new stuff uploaded.
I have still been creating ACEO's and artists trading cards but have also been concentrating on larger size art of late.
Here are some of my larger drawings a portrait in graphite pencil.

Here is my latest creation an ACEO called the Fantasy OWL.

What ACEO is all about
ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". These cards have one main rule - they are 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches - the size of a trading card.

The reason for this is, of course, that Art Cards are made to be traded! But while artists were happily trading cards, the general public was left out in the cold, having no Art Cards to trade. A group of artists realized this, and quickly made their cards available for sale at remarkably low prices so that everyone could join in the fun!

Cards are also sold either as originals or editions. Make sure you know which you are buying! If it is a print it should say so, and it should be numbered and signed, usually on the back.

This one is listed for sale on ebay here
Please take a look ( i love getting hits) and please do leave your comments for me here on my blog. Thank you so much.

GETTING BACK TO ATC'S.
Finally im getting back to trading and creating some more atc's
what are atc's you cry

ARTIST TRADING CARDS are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm card stock.

they are originals, small editions and, most importantly, self-produced. anybody can produce them.
the idea is that you trade them with other people who produce cards, either at TRADING SESSIONS or wherever you meet another ATC trader in person.

Artists cards can be drawn painted collaged papercrafted sketched glued anything you like so go on give them a try
Here are a few of my latest ones

I was shopping in the cornmill centre. In Darlington, Co. Durham. On January the 9th.
When I felt the need to use the ladies, situated downstairs in the mall.

I entered the second cubicle and with a glance noticed a small business type card, jutting out from behind the advertising sign bolted to the back of the toilet door. It had a splash of red and a website address on it.

Being a curious cat (Often my downfall) I was intrigued to find out more so pocketed it and went about my day. So I was quite surprised to find it lead me to the website detailing the account of Darlingtons very own VAMPIRE! ( is Rufus a real vampire or just a figment of Franks fertile mind is a question I have to ask) either way an intriguing and unusual way to get someone's attention.

Anyway you to are invited to Rufus Hobster's site to make YOUR own mind up about wether he is real or ficticious click the picture above or see the link at the right hand side..

Finally is Rufus Hobster GOOD or BAD, you decide, well you get to vote in the poll so get off the fence and take a peek into the world of a REAL vampire?
